BADLANDS, S.D. -- We haven't made it too far since our last post. After a nice brunch at IHOP in Sioux Falls, we're on the other side of South Dakota now, camping in the Badlands. Cala is cursing the popcorn that not's popping over our campfire. Dave is attempting to fix his camera via online support chat (to a cyberjaun named Jessica) because we have free Wifi at this campsite. And I am six Bud Lights deep and blogging from a wooden bench on the shores of the White River. Look it up.
Anyway, after Sioux Falls we drove west for about five hours to here. We stopped at the Corn Palace in Mitchell. It had a basketball court surrounded by cornwalls and apparently it's been there for like 200 years. We saw pictures of the palace circa 1907 and it had a Sawstika in corn prominently displayed outside.
After that, along the way, we had our first scare with the Benzino. The water temp was maxing out so we pulled off at an exit and put coolant in. Thankfully that worked and the temperature stabilized for the rest of our trip.
We then had an important decision to make: camp here in the badass Badlands or just parooze a bit and continue on to Rapid City and Mount Rushmore. After checking out the camping situation, we decided on the former, the first choice. We bought some supplies (bison bugers, red hotdogs, ice, beer, solo cups) at this piece of shit town called Interior, which has a one room jail, grocery store, wierd ass bar and school all within a one block radius. We made our purchases and arrived at what will be our resting spot for the night. We just finished cooking up the food on the grill and the popcorn is now roasting.
We're hearing animal noises now so it's probably time to go. Rushmore tomorrow and then we're planning on getting near Yellowstone.
Godspeed,
-- Weatherman, Dave and the other Corey, sorry Cala. He doesn't like being called the other.
P.S. Recently said quote from Dave: "At least I'm ambidextrous in my jerking off abilities." (No homo).
Cala: "I don't know how they can teach fourth graders about sex."
