The passing of the torch

1985 was a good year, it was the year that a very special dark blue Mercedes Benz 300d turbo diesel sedan was built (probably by Nazis). Built for pure luxury this vehicle cost over 30,000 dollars in 1985. Many years later this vehicle made its way into the hands of an eager teenaged boy looking for a car with a little more character than his 1989 Pontiac Sunbird. The young man fell in love with his "new" car at first sight. Road trips were smooth and worry free (except for that one time when the wheel fell off when me and Corey were coming back from snowboarding). High School flowed into college but the young man and his car stuck together. Through snow storms, music video shoots, vandalism of a hood ornament, and a devastating flouring the car stood strong. As graduation approached many nay sayers asked what would become of the car. "He certainly couldn't bring it cross country to California with him could he?" Well he did take the trusty automobile across this great country and what a glorious adventure it was. From some of the dirtiest most disgusting places on earth (Pittsburgh), to the pristine landscapes of yellowstone and yosemite national parks, the faithful machine kept on truckin'. As it approached its destination the old machine suffered the most severe injury of its career (basically tore its acl on the left leg. After some sketchy (but solid) repairs the beast was back on track and finally made it to its new home in Monterey, CA. For the next 2 years the car served bravely, fighting through oil loss, coolant loss, deer bashings and a sagging back end to bring its proud owner anywhere he wanted to go (including a trip to the 2009 rose bowl where it received its new paint job) Sadly, it became clear that the old car would not be able to make the trip back cross country. So the young man contemplated his next move carefully. After months of thinking and searching a small shimmer of light appeared in a craigslist listing, a 1985 ford e350 diesel van. The perfect vehicle for a trip back to the east coast and possibly some Penn State football games. Time will tell whether the new suitor will be as faithful as the old Mercedes, but the young man will always have a special place in his heart for his first love. that 1985 Mercedes Benz 300d turbo diesel.

Greatest horsecut tale ever. For the love of God, do not get rid of that car. Two options: 1, put it on a truck bed and have it sent or 2, tow it behind the van

damn, a lot of good memories - early morning trips to morse basketball boot camp, beer runs, ball at rec, music videos, rose bowl, carnival cruise trophy replacement, and the "deflouring" incident. certainly will be missed.

I have only one memory in this car... but damn it was memorable. I was in the backseat, I forget where we were going, but I remember fearing for my life... until we started moving. I never felt more safe and secure. It was like the car said... i'm the shit, you'll be fine.

Maybe you should bury it, like its a real person...
