Right after Christmas I entered a short 10 page script to a Pittsburgh competition called the Steeltown Film factory. I just got an email that mine is one of 10 semi-finalists out of 108 entries. This coming weekend they're having acting students from CMU read the scripts and then a panel of judges will critique them and give advice. Then I have to revise it, submit a final version, and pitch it. From there, the judges pick 2 or 3 winners who get to split $20k to make the short film this year. I wrote mine 2 days before the deadline and I don't think it's my best work, but I'm pumped because I know I can fix it up.
Synopsis: 1940s Steelworker caught in the monotony and repetion of the factory yearns for something more to his life.
