THE Director's Review- Green Street 2

When Cala posted this, I had no idea it was actually out yet, I thought it was going to go straight to DVD like later this year or something like that, but it was on Netflix so I watched it. Ill basically spoil the movie in the review, because I doubt anyone will see this. Anyway, here is my review for.........
Green Street 2: Stand Your Ground
The movie starts out with Dave, played by Russ McCall (him and Terence Jay, aka the "One Blood" singer from the first movie, were the only returning guys from Green Street Hoolingans) talking about prison life and how football firms still fight eachother in prison, and he kept saying "Stand your Ground", which was kinda gay. We eventually find out by piecing it together that everyone is in prison due to the final fight of Green Street Hooligans.
Within the first 10 minutes, a bunch of people from the GSE fight against a firm from Chelsea, which lands the three main guys to get transferred to another prison, but to everyone's dismay, its a prison that is controlled by none other than the FIRM FROM THE INFAMOUS MILLWALL! None of the Millwall guys from this movie returned from the first movie I think. Anyway, the 3 GSE guys are extremely outnumbered by the Millwall guys and boy does it show! They keep getting jumped and the crap kicked out of them, they even get their asses kicked in a church, but they do "Stand their ground" the best they could. And the fact that there is a crooked prison guard jaun doesn't help the GSE's chances in their new prison... she turns off camera's, sneaks in drugs and weapons, and a bunch of other crap, even giving the solitary confinement room key to one of the prisoners so he can attack one of the GSE guys while he is sleeping, that helps the Millwall firm in their attacks against the GSE, along with other prisoners.
The GSE befriend some Russian immigrant prisoners, who also hate the Millwall guys, so they end up collaborating and getting creative in beating the hell out of the Millwall firm. The GSE also befriends a black prison guard, who has beef with his crooked female co-worker, so together, they will try to bring down both the Millwall firm AND the crooked jaun guard. Random weird scene: the main guy, Dave, was getting vistited by his wife and she was talking about how she shaved her pubic hair, then she tells him that his shoe is untied so he looks under the table to see her nice and shaven (she isn't wearing panties!!!)
OK, so the prison is getting overcrowded and they need to find about 50 people they can let go who wont be a menace to society and the warden tells the guards to come up with a list of 50 deserving prisoners who wont be a menace to society. Well, the warden finds that he agrees to 47 of their choices and decides that the remaining 3 will be decided by the winner of the soccer game between the 2 firms, he compares them to the gladiators of Rome.
The Millwall leader finds out, calls one of his buddies from the outside, has Dave's wife kidnapped, and then tells Dave that if the GSE loses, he will let his wife live. Millwall guy even has a cell phone and lets Dave talk to his kidnapped wife to prove he is telling the truth. Uh oh, what is Dave gonna do? Well, right before the soccer game begins, Dave has one of his Russian friends call his GSE buddies on the outside and have them take control of the hostage situation, which they do! So, in the middle of the game, Dave finds out his wife is safe, so he starts trying and they end up shitting all over the Millwall guys, earning their FREEEEEEEDOMMMMMM!!!!!! The soccer game was ridiculous, they would fight and throw punches and kick eachother during the game, then the warden would laugh. In the end, the Millwall guys are booked/re-arrested for kidnapping, and the prison guard jaun gets arrested for drug trafficking. The GSE boys go home and then have a party (seriously).

Overall, the movie was pretty bad. It had some pretty cool, extremely bloody, fight scenes. At times, the movie just got annoying and I found myself checking on the xbox how long the movie had left until it was over, you just want the movie to end.... The same thing kept happening over and over, just to different people. The writing was bad and the acting was worse, Janelle wasn't even watching and she chimed in and said "the acting in this movie is awful". Terence Jay (One Blood Singer), wrote this movie. Hahaha. Also, the overall lack of security in the prison, although having nothing at all to do with the movie, gets extremely frustrating.... you would ask yourself, "why does this guy have a key to this room?", "how does this guy have access to a monkey wrench, crowbar, knife, etc.?", "why would they put these rival gangs in the same prison block?", and "how does this guy have access to bleach so he can make some type of face burning solution?" It did get better in like the last half hour of the movie though, I must admit. I guess if you are down for a few laughs and watching some fights, go ahead and rent GS2: Stand Your Ground, but, if you want a quality family movie that is fun for all, go rent Home Alone 4: Taking Back the House.
