GRAD PARTY HIJINKS

ARGENTINE RESIDENCE -- So Cala, Weatherman, and Dave showed up at my house thursday night, barged in, sat down at the dinner table, and demanded swedish meatballs.  Not really, but like they blogged about earlier, we had dinner and chillaxed.  We went to blockbusters looking for Shine a Light and were told it isn't out till July.  Depressed, we went back and started downloading Cloverfield in HD on xboxlive.  Unfortunately it was a really slow download so we ended up watching trailers for bad movies all night, movies like the 70s horror Private Parts (not related to Howard Stern's Private Parts), Shaft in Africa, and Redneck Zombies.

The Grad Party was a success yesterday.  Lots of family came, many that I didn't know or haven't seen in years, friends, and annoying/hot highschool seniors.  I talked with my friend about being on set of My Bloody Valentine 3D, discussed the merits of the original Star Wars trilogy with my cousin, and planned for going to the world's largest paintball game: D-Day at Skirmish Paintball (see a video of last year's game here).

I finally watched Cloverfield last night.  Not sure how I feel about it.  There were cool moments (army attacking the monster, Chrysler building collapsing) but then when some of the characters died I didn't really care because they weren't developed very much).  The film was really short (70 minutes I think) and I think they could have had more cool moments.  And watching a handheld camera for an entire movie sucks and isn't necessary.
